Individual Therapy
Most people seek therapy when they are feeling in pain and unsure how to move forward towards feeling better. Maybe you are feeling chronically sad or lonely or angry or having communication difficulties at work or in your personal life. Maybe you are struggling with the increased stress inherent in being an expat. Maybe you have become aware of some unproductive habits or patterns or you are just feeling stuck and don't know why. Some folks have suffered a difficult childhood history or a trauma or a painful life setback and want help in healing from the subsequent emotional wounds. Individual therapy is an opportunity to increase your self-awareness, become more skilled in addressing life's challenges, reduce your suffering and live a more fulfilling life.
Approach
It is my goal to provide a confidential, safe and non-judgmental space in which to help you explore your concerns. As an integrative therapist who is trained in multiple modalities, I do my best to tailor the sessions to meet your particular needs. I am warm, practical, collaborative and present-centered in my approach. Being present-centered includes looking at past experience as it pertains to your life today to help you become unstuck. My training and experience with EMDR, DBT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Mindfulness based skills facilitates a broad range of ideas and interventions to help you move forward towards meeting your goals and healing your emotional wounds.
The course of therapy can be long term, short term, or on an as-needed basis depending on your concerns and goals. At your first appointment we will discuss your hopes and needs and chart a path together to help you achieve what you are looking for to become more of your best self. I look forward to meeting you.
