PLEASE NOTE: I have retired and no longer am taking any appointments.
Background
I received my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California in 1986. I worked for LA County Children's Services for 9 months before moving to Boulder, Colorado. I was then hired to be on the Intensive Family Therapy Team working with Fost-Adopt families and families that had been court-ordered into treatment at Boulder County Dept of Social Services from 1986 – 1990. In early 1990 I began a 2.5 year position as a therapist at a small in-patient psychiatric unit in Longmont, Colorado while I continued to build my private practice.
I have been in full-time private practice since 1992, first in Longmont, Colorado and now in Paris, France since 2008. In my career, I have always had an interest in the treatment of trauma. I have led women's support groups for survivors of sexual abuse, co-led self-defence skills groups for women survivors, and taught a class entitled "Abuse in relationships" at Aims Community College in Colorado. I have done a Crisis Debriefing trauma intervention for a US oil company after a mortal accident occurred on an oil platform off the coast of Africa and for student abroad organizations after the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015. My mother’s Holocaust history has informed my understanding about the impact of trauma and issues of dissociation both directly and intergenerationally.
I have received specialized training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR Levels 1 & 2, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Levels 1 & 2, and the Theory of Structural Dissociation.
